WHO IS THIGS????

Back in 1989, I got a thank-you letter from my nephew, Danny. He accidentially wrote 'thank you for the thigs you sent me, Aunt Diane'.......

At the time I'd just designed and sewn a custom-bear for my own; I wanted to use it as my symbol and logo for the charity work I was doing. I hadn't given the bear a name - suddenly when I saw this spelling error, I knew I had the name - THIGS!

A few days later THIGS and I were coming back from taking a used organ to a little girl who was in a wheel chair, and she wanted to play the piano or organ. Since she didn't have one, I was given a used one to donate to her. It was very nice, but I was wishing I'd had enough money to buy her a new one!

Looking over at THIGS sitting on the car seat, it seemed as if he was looking back at me and saying, 'That's okay, Diane - remember what my name stands for; Truth, Honor, Integrity, Good Spirit; that's what you really need to give not only to that little girl, but to every one!" "That's what the owner of the piano store had in his heart, when he gave you the donation - it was the best he could do...."

And so THIGS became an acronym - thanks to Danny's tiny mistake, I had a HUGE reward that has given me joy for these past 21 years!!!

Finding the good in everything; turning a mistake into an opportunity or blessing - that's the 'Christmas Spirit' - all year long, and Christmas is surely with THIGS.........
